The Academy draws on industrial-organizational psychology and evidence-based training design to structure learning, practice, feedback and reflection for Game Masters.
Its source material includes a literature review, a synthesis of relevant findings, a competency framework, behavioral descriptions and training materials. These connect broad ideas about development with specific actions to study and practice.
Keep the claims precise
Research that informs a training method is different from evidence that a particular program produces a particular outcome. The Academy describes its training as designed to improve performance. It does not present that purpose as proof of program effectiveness.
Respect context
Game system, table preferences and the situation affect how a skill is used. Framework descriptions and assessment results need that context to be interpreted usefully. They are not a universal ranking of Game Masters.
Evaluate the program
The Founding Pilot focuses on how the curriculum, practice activities and feedback process work together. Any findings must distinguish what was observed from what can reasonably be concluded.
