Develop your skills. Keep your style.
Your table does not need a copy of someone else's Game Master. It needs clear choices, fair decisions, engaging communication and a GM who can adapt to the people and situation in front of them.
Game Master Academy gives that development a structure: identify a priority, study the skill, practice a specific action and use feedback to decide what to change.
What the Foundation curriculum covers
The Game Master Foundation curriculum contains eight modules, 24 lessons and 46 exercises. Its eight areas are:
- Supporting participation and group process.
- Supporting meaningful choices.
- Making fair and explainable decisions.
- Designing and preparing play situations.
- Responding and adapting during play.
- Communicating the fiction.
- Tracking state, continuity and information.
- Guiding session flow and review.
What the work looks like
Study a concept and a fictional case. Produce a small piece of work or rehearse a response. Compare it with the exercise guidance, use specific feedback and record what you would keep or change.
The curriculum focuses on actions you can practice. It respects differences in genre, game system, table preferences and personal style.
